Oh, What a Year It's Been...

One year ago today, Pete and I ventured out to Warrenville, IL to check out a 1985 Winnebago Lesharo that had been sitting in a driveway for two years. The previous owner initially purchased it as a getaway for his tiny rat terrier. Little did that Lesharo know what she had coming...

Today, Pete and I celebrate our one year anniversary as wacky homeowners. A tremendous moment, indeed!

And how will we celebrate and honor our beloved Winnebago, you ask? By spending the night in a hotel! You see, our power converter fried (again) about three weeks ago. Normally, the man would promptly get his tools out and fix the damn thing. But Pete, being the busy-bee that he is, has been out of Austin for three weeks working his ass off. So, the Winnie's just been sitting and baking in the 100-degree sun ever since. What...you expect ME to fix it!? I'm obviously the useless one around here.

This year has been a wild and amazing adventure that we wouldn't trade for the world. And sure, we've had our fair share of ups and downs. I mean, living in a teeny tiny Winnebago isn't easy, and it's definitely not for everyone. But we've managed to keep on rocking. And we love it!

So, who's ready for memory lane, eh?? Let's take a look back at some of our favorite Winnebago moments:

Purchased! Awaiting auto insurance in Warrenville, IL.

Marty McFly straight chillin' on the streets of Chicago.

Michigan maintenance. Pete fixes up ol' Winnie at his parents' house whilst I stand around a look pretty.

Pete builds our bed! The mattress is made from the futon we used to sleep on in Chicago.

I KILLED TURKEYS!!! Rather, Pete killed them. But I did touch (and eat) them...

Day of departure. So long, Pure Michigan®.

Hellllo road trip!

Turkey sandwiches. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner.

God bless Walmart parking lots. And the People of Walmart, too.

What, you've never shit in a bag??

Marty McFly arrives in Austin!

We used to sleep on the streetz!

Our house becomes a home.

Austin Blizzard 2011!

A little fixin' to keep her moving and grooving.

Taking her for a ride.

Ahhh, memories! Here's to another great year of adventure and mayhem! We haven't a clue what the future has in store for us, but I assure you, it won't be average. Thanks to all who've been keeping up with us this past year! We love sharing our lives with you. Even all the parts when we talk about poop.
